CLASSICFEEL magazine, DeskLink Media’s flagship publication, publishes a quarterly supplement, called Investing in Culture, that provides exposure to the arts and culture industries with the aim of contributing to their long-term sustainability. To date, supplements on jewellery, ceramics, fashion and embroidery have been published and well received.

The issue of environmental awareness is one to which CLASSICFEEL magazine is committed. In this light, the Recycling Supplement, which will be designed in-house by DeskLink Media, will highlight those designers and craftspeople who create objects of beauty by re-using and re-inventing materials. These artists often transform materials that most people see as worthless and simply discard without a second thought. The team is currently conceptualising the look and feel of the supplement with a vision of creating something memorable that reflects the innovation of the designs.

Weaving is a vital part of our South African heritage, as well as our contemporary arts landscape. The Weaving Supplement will peruse the tradition, the current state and the potential of weaving, and introduce readers to those weavers who have contributed particularly new and original ideas to the industry. Intended for those who work in the field, together with those who are interested in the lay of the land, the supplement, created by the DeskLink Media team, will provide an authentic feel for the world of weaving in South Africa today, with a design that manages to represent the diverse and textured nature of the craft.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
